Full Roof Cleaning
Roof cleaning is crucial for maintaining the integrity and longevity of your roof, as well as improving the aesthetics. It involves removing various contaminants, such as moss, lichen and algae. This process has a secondary benefit, as removing the moss and other contaminants also stops it from blocking your gutters. Moss
absorbs water and traps moisture, leading to rot and deterioration of roofing
materials. Lichen, a combination of algae and fungus, can discolour the tiles
causing stains affecting both aesthetics and functionality.

Roof Cleaning Methods
Experience superior cleaning with our scraping and cleaning techniques. We remove the algae and moss, then apply a biocide chemical treatment for an impeccable, long-lasting finish on your roof. We offer two methods of roof cleaning, both of which would be discussed during the quoting stage and after a visit to see the property where we decide which would be the best for both the customer and the roof being cleaned.
Both methods of cleaning are carried out from our mobile scaffold tower to
ensuring safety is paramount. There is no need to risk working off ladders or
standing on the roof, potentially damaging the tiles. Both cleaning methods are completed by applying a chemical to assist with the cleaning process and the killing off of the biological growth of the algae, lichen and moss spores. All roof cleans are completed with the gutters being cleared and cleaned along with a window clean to ensure the whole property is transformed.
Method 1: ROOF SCRAPING
Roof scraping is a very popular method of cleaning the roof. Using a mobile scaffold tower for access, and a profiled scraper fixed to a telescopic pole, we literally scrape off the moss and debris etc from the roof tiles. Once the roof is cleared of moss and the gutters emptied a Biocide is applied to the tiles.
Biocide is designed to kill living organisms, including algae, fungi and moss. When applied to the roof it functions as a roof cleaner which keeps working over time stopping the re-growth of moss and cleaning the surface of the tiles.
Method 2: LOW WATER PRESSURE
The second option we offer is low water pressure cleaning. This is carried out
using a low-pressure flat surface cleaner attached to a pressure washer. Using the flat surface cleaner (fsc) on a telescopic pole allows us to clean all of the roof with ease. Using low pressure water with the fsc effectively removes dirt, moss, algae and other contaminants. The low pressure is crucial to prevent damage to the roofing material. We will not use high pressure or clean your roof unsafely by climbing on it.
Just like the scraping method once cleaning is completed the roof will be treated to stop re-growth of moss etc.
